Bangladesh’s women will travel to Australia for a bilateral series for the first time in history, marking a significant milestone for the national side. Cricket Australia confirmed the itinerary as part of the ICC Women’s Future Tours Programme.
While Bangladesh’s men are due to return home in late August following their Test series in Australia, the women’s team will embark on a limited-overs tour in early October. This will be their first-ever bilateral assignment on Australian soil.
The venues and dates for the men’s Test series had already been finalised. Cricket Australia has now announced the complete 2026–27 home summer schedule for both the men’s and women’s teams. Australia’s women, like their male counterparts, will open their season against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will play three One Day Internationals, all scheduled in Brisbane. The day-night fixtures will take place on 9 October, 11 October and 14 October at Allan Border Field.
The three-match Twenty20 International series will be staged in Sydney, though not at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Instead, all matches will be held at North Sydney Oval on 18 October, 20 October and 22 October. Each fixture is a night match, starting at 7:15 pm local time.
Bangladesh have toured Australia only once previously. During the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the side led by Salma Khatun suffered defeats in all four matches.
Their first bilateral meeting with Australia came two years ago in Bangladesh, where Nigar Sultana’s team lost all three ODIs and three T20Is.
Overall, Bangladesh have played five ODIs and five T20Is against Australia and are yet to register a win.
Bangladesh will host Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team next month for ODI and T20I series at home. In June, they will travel to England for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
According to the ICC schedule, Bangladesh will also tour New Zealand in December for three ODIs and three T20Is after completing the Australia series.
