The elections to the 2026–2027 executive committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association have been postponed, with voting now scheduled for 13 and 14 May.
The decision was taken at a special general meeting held at the association’s South Hall on Sunday.
It was announced that the previously declared schedule would be revised and a fresh election timetable issued accordingly.
Earlier, the polls were slated for 11 and 12 March under a notice issued on 18 February signed by Supreme Court Bar Association Acting Secretary Md Mahfuzur Rahman Milon.
The change in dates came following demands from Supreme Court lawyers citing the month of Ramadan.
Under the original schedule, the sale of nomination forms began on 19 February, and Sunday was the last day for the collection and submission of nomination papers.
