Saudi Arabia has begun advance preparations for the 2027 Hajj season, with authorities stressing stronger operational readiness, tighter agency coordination, and improved services for millions of pilgrims.
The planning recommendations came out of a three‑day series of discussions hosted by the Mecca Principality Agency for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, in partnership with the Hajj Projects Management Office under the Pilgrim Experience Programme.
Representatives from 60 government bodies engaged in pilgrim services at the holy sites attended the sessions, reports the Gulf News.
The meetings were held under the directives of the Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah and supervised by Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Deputy Emir of Mecca.
Officials reviewed the outcomes of the 2026 Hajj season and outlined proposals to build on its successes.
Key points included strengthening operational frameworks, adopting proactive measures, enhancing integration among participating agencies, and clarifying roles and responsibilities to ensure smoother execution.
The discussions also focused on achieving maximum operational readiness, with mechanisms to anticipate and address potential challenges while maintaining high standards of care and service for pilgrims.
