Satkhira District Bar Association will hold its 2026 executive committee election on 3 December, with voting scheduled from 8am to 4pm without a break.
The seven-member Election Commission announced the schedule on Thursday, setting out deadlines for voter registration, nominations, scrutiny, appeals and withdrawals.
Voting will take place on the second floor of Building No 1 of the association.
According to the schedule, the draft voter list will be published on 11 October, with objections accepted from 12 to 14 October.
The final voter list will be published on 18 October.
Objections against the list may be submitted to the executive committee on 19 October, with a revised final list due on 25 October.
Nomination papers will be distributed from 27 October, while the deadline for submission is 1 November.
The commission will scrutinise nominations on 3 November and publish a preliminary list of candidates the same day.
Candidates whose nominations are rejected may file objections with the chief election commissioner on 4 and 5 November, until 3pm.
The chief election commissioner will resolve the objections on 9 November.
Those dissatisfied with the decisions may appeal to the executive committee, acting as the Electoral Tribunal, by 3pm on 10 November.
The deadline for withdrawing nominations is 17 November, while the final candidate list will be published on 19 November.
All election-related activities, including the distribution and submission of nomination papers, will be conducted at the Election Commission’s designated office.
The commission said applications, objections, nominations and withdrawal notices submitted after the prescribed deadlines would not be accepted unless otherwise decided in accordance with election rules.
The seven-member commission, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Md Mohitul Islam, has been formed to conduct the polls in a free, fair and impartial manner.
Mohitul Islam said all electoral activities would follow the announced schedule.
Meanwhile, election preparations have gathered pace among local lawyers, with prospective candidates and their supporters stepping up efforts to reach voters and make their positions known.
