Lithuania has expressed interest in expanding trade and investment with Bangladesh in the technology, transport and logistics sectors, and wants to strengthen bilateral commercial cooperation.

The interest was conveyed by Lithuanian Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Vidmantas Verbickas during a courtesy call on FBCCI Administrator Md Fazlul Hoque on Thursday afternoon.

Fazlul Hoque welcomed Lithuania’s interest but urged the country to simplify its visa procedures. He said it is quite difficult for Bangladeshi businesspeople to complete visa procedures by travelling to another country. The administrator highlighted trade and investment potential with Lithuania, an EU member, and expressed hope that Bangladesh could benefit from Lithuania’s experience in technology, transport and logistics, said a press release.
