East West University (EWU) has partnered with Huawei Technologies Limited to provide students with industry-focused artificial intelligence (AI) training, information and communication technology (ICT) skills development and professional certifications aimed at improving their career prospects in the global technology sector.
The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the EWU campus on Thursday, establishing a framework for collaboration under the global Huawei ICT Academy programme, the university said in a press release.
Under the agreement, EWU students will gain access to industry-oriented AI training, advanced technology resources, specialised professional certifications and ICT skills development opportunities.
The partnership is designed to equip students with practical expertise in emerging technologies and prepare them for professional opportunities in the global ICT industry.
EWU Acting Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik and Ahmed Wasif Reza, dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, attended the signing ceremony alongside other university officials.
Huawei Technologies Limited was represented by Ma Ben, managing director of public affairs for Huawei South Asia, and other delegates from its brand and communications department.
