Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are reportedly in discussions to reunite on the big screen in an upcoming superhero film directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, according to reports.
The project is said to feature Salman Khan as an ageing superhero who is drawn back into action under unforeseen circumstances. Reports suggest Khan personally reached out to Kareena Kapoor Khan, helping advance discussions, while she has not officially signed the project but has responded positively to the script.
If finalised, the film would mark the fifth on-screen collaboration between the two actors. Their previous films together include ‘Kyon Ki’ (2005), ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ (2009), ‘Bodyguard’ (2011) and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ (2015), with the latter remaining one of their most widely appreciated works.
Earlier speculation had suggested Samantha Ruth Prabhu for the female lead, but reports now indicate Kareena is the preferred choice.
Salman Khan is expected to begin shooting around October or November 2026. The film also marks a return to theatrical releases for Raj & DK, whose last big-screen project was ‘A Gentleman’ in 2017 after a strong run in the streaming space.
In the meantime, Salman Khan is currently filming ‘SVC63’ directed by Vamshi Paidipally alongside Nayanthara and is also preparing for ‘Maatrubhumi’, scheduled for release on August 15.
Kareena Kapoor Khan will next appear in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Daayra’ alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran, marking her 68th film in a 25-year career.
