Formerly one of the familiar faces of Bangladesh’s television industry, Mozeza Ashraf Monalisa marked her birthday on Monday, 5 October, with a message of gratitude and reflection.
Now based permanently in the United States, Monalisa has been away from the country’s showbiz scene for several years.
On her birthday, she shared a photo of herself on social media and offered a personal reflection on the journey that has brought her to this point.
Looking back on the past year, the actress and model said it had brought challenges, lessons, growth and moments of happiness.
“I am celebrating the joy of completing another year of my life. The year was filled with various challenges, lessons, growth and happiness. I am grateful for every moment of my life because every experience has shaped me into the person I am today,” she wrote.
Monalisa also acknowledged the ups and downs she has experienced over the years, saying they have given her many reasons to remain grateful.
She thanked Allah for blessing her with another year of life, good health, strength and the mental resilience to face difficulties.
The actress also offered a prayer for the year ahead, asking Allah to grant her a long and healthy life and the ability to enjoy each day with gratitude.
“May another year of my life be filled with blessings, beautiful moments and new achievements,” she said.
Monalisa was at the height of her career in 2012 when she married New York-based Faiyaz Sharif. She moved to New York the following year and began a new chapter of her life there.
Alongside her personal life, she also worked as the head of programmes at US-based Bangla television channel Time TV.
Her marriage, however, did not last long. The couple moved towards divorce within about a year of their wedding. Monalisa has not remarried since.
Although she has remained away from acting, she continues to maintain a presence on social media, regularly sharing photographs and reflections from her life in the United States.
For an actress who once spent years in the spotlight, her birthday message offered a glimpse into a quieter chapter of her life, shaped by experience, change and gratitude.
