Bangladesh have plenty to cheer about from the latest ICC T20 rankings update, with Saif Hassan and Rishad Hossain both making significant progress following their performances in the Asia Cup.

Opener Saif Hassan has continued his remarkable climb up the batting rankings. The right-hander jumped 45 places this week to reach 36th, now holding a rating of 555 points. This follows an even bigger leap the previous week, when he surged 133 spots after an impressive run of form with the bat. Saif’s consistency at the top of the order has made him one of Bangladesh’s standout performers in the shortest format.

In the bowling department, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has also seen a notable improvement. He moved up six places to claim the 20th position among T20 bowlers. Rishad’s control and wicket-taking ability have added a new dimension to Bangladesh’s attack, and his rise reflects his growing impact on the international stage.

While much of the global spotlight was on India’s Abhishek Sharma, who broke the record for the highest-ever T20I batting rating, and Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, who became the number one ranked T20 all-rounder, Bangladesh’s steady progress in both departments signals encouraging development ahead of future tournaments.

Elsewhere in the rankings, India’s Varun Chakravarthy maintained his position at the top of the bowling list, while Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi and India’s Kuldeep Yadav made significant gains. But for Bangladesh, the rise of Saif and Rishad stands out as a testament to the team’s emerging talent and growing depth in T20 cricket.
