Sadie Sink has once again fuelled speculation about her mystery role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but the actress has revealed almost nothing about the character despite teasing fans with “exclusive” details, says Deadline.
In a humorous video shared by Sony Pictures on Instagram, the Stranger Things star addressed the growing number of fan theories surrounding her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.
“Since the trailer dropped, I’ve seen so many theories about who I’m playing,” Sink said. “To match your incredible energy, I’ve decided to give you three exclusive, confirmed answers right now.”
She then playfully ruled out a few possibilities.
“I can confirm I am not Spider-Man,” she joked, before adding, “I am not Aunt May,” referring to the beloved character portrayed by Marisa Tomei, who died in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
Sink concluded with the only genuine confirmation fans received.
“And third, I can definitely confirm that I am in this movie. As for who I really am, you’ll have to find out in the theatre.”
Sony echoed the joke in the post’s caption, writing, “We can confirm… She’s in this movie.”
The actress recently spoke about working alongside Tom Holland, praising the Spider-Man star for making her feel welcome while joining the long-running franchise.
“It was interesting stepping into that space and being a little bit of an outsider in that way, but he could not have been more welcoming, and just the whole crew in general,” Sink told Nylon. “He was just so relaxed and open, and I felt very at ease.”
According to the film’s official synopsis, Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows Peter Parker as he embraces life as a full-time superhero in a world that no longer remembers his identity.
As Peter struggles to watch his former friends move on, he faces a mysterious new villain whom “no one can even see”.
The film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Liza Colón-Zayas and Mark Ruffalo.
While Marvel and Sony continue to keep Sink’s character a closely guarded secret, her latest teaser has only added to the anticipation surrounding the next chapter of Spider-Man’s story.
