Sachin Tendulkar praised his son Arjun Tendulkar after the youngster finally made his debut for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026 and delivered a solid performance against Punjab Kings.
As IPL 2026 enters its final stage, Punjab Kings kept their playoff hopes alive with a win over Lucknow Super Giants on May 23. LSG, led by Rishabh Pant, played their final match of the season and handed Arjun his first game for the franchise.
The young all rounder impressed on his debut. He finished with figures of 1 for 36 from his four overs and also remained unbeaten on five runs. Arjun had earlier made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2023, where he took three wickets in four matches.
After the match, Sachin shared a message for his son and praised the way he handled the season.
“Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match.”
Sachin also praised his son’s patience and offered some advice for the future.
“Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have. Love you always,” he concluded.
LSG had a difficult season in IPL 2026. The franchise owned by Sanjiv Goenka finished at the bottom of the table with only four wins from 14 matches and eight points.
Despite having players like Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran and Pant in the squad, LSG became the first team to be knocked out of the tournament.
