Bangladesh Under-19 women will travel to Pakistan for a six-match T20 tri-series against the hosts and Sri Lanka, with all 10 matches, including the final, scheduled at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium from October 2 to 16.
Pakistan Cricket Board announced the schedule on Tuesday, giving Bangladesh a lengthy competitive run ahead of the upcoming Under-19 Asia Cup and Under-19 World Cup.
Bangladesh will open their campaign against Pakistan on October 2 before facing Sri Lanka on October 5. They will meet Pakistan again on October 6, then play Sri Lanka on October 8. Their final two league matches will come against Pakistan on October 11 and Sri Lanka on October 14.
The three teams will play a triple round-robin league, with each side meeting the other two teams three times. The top two teams will then contest the final on October 16.
Bangladesh will arrive in Pakistan on September 29. Before travelling, the team will hold a pre-series preparation camp in Faisalabad from September 16 to 27.
The Bangladesh and Sri Lanka squads will train at Iqbal Stadium on September 29, 30 and October 1 alongside the Pakistan team. Sri Lanka will arrive in Pakistan on September 28.
The series will give Bangladesh six competitive matches in a short period as they prepare for the next major Under-19 women’s tournaments. All 10 matches will take place at Iqbal Stadium and will start at 11am Bangladesh time.
The Faisalabad venue will also host its first international women’s cricket matches during the series. The ground last staged men’s international cricket when Pakistan played South Africa in a three-match ODI series last year, ending a 17-year gap.
