Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring and Joao Felix sealed the points as Al-Nassr claimed a 2-0 victory over Al-Okhdood on Saturday, extending their winning run to 14 consecutive Saudi Pro League matches — a new record in the club’s history — and moving five points clear at the top of the table.
Jorge Jesus’s side have been in imperious form, and Saturday’s win underlined just how far ahead of the chasing pack they currently are. Al-Nassr have now gone eight away matches in the Saudi Pro League without defeat, equalling their own record for consecutive victories on the road.
Ronaldo broke the deadlock after just 15 minutes, taking Nawaf Bu Washl’s pass in his stride before slotting calmly past goalkeeper Samuel Portugal. Al-Nassr thought they had doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute when the ball ricocheted over the line off Mohamed Simakan, but the effort was ruled out for handball.
Kingsley Coman fired narrowly wide from distance and Ronaldo saw a sweeping effort denied as the hosts pressed for a second. It arrived early in the second half through Felix. Sadio Mane’s deflected cross was met by Coman, whose looping header came back off the post, but Felix was quickest to react, volleying home the rebound with conviction.
Ronaldo continued to threaten before being replaced in the 81st minute, though the two-goal cushion was never seriously threatened.
Al-Nassr’s 13th consecutive league win is a landmark moment in the club’s history, surpassing their previous best run in the competition. Al-Okhdood are only the second side against whom Al-Nassr have won all six of their Saudi Pro League meetings, with Al-Shoalah being the other. Jesus himself has won all six of his league matches against Saturday’s opponents, maintaining a perfect record and, notably, a clean sheet in every encounter — making Al-Okhdood the only opponent he has faced at least twice in the competition without conceding.
With five games remaining and a five-point cushion at the top, the Saudi Pro League title is firmly in Al-Nassr’s hands.
