Robi Axiata PLC has received five awards at the ESG Excellence Awards Bangladesh 2026, securing the highest number of recognitions among participating organisations at the event held at Lakeshore Grand in Gulshan.
Robi won three Gold and two Silver awards at the ceremony organised by the UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh and ESG Institute Bangladesh, said a press release.
The company received Gold awards in the categories of Worker Wellbeing & Workplace Improvement, Supply Chain & Distribution, and ESG Technology & Digital Innovation for its bdapps platform. Robi also received Silver awards in Skills Development & Workforce Upskilling and Sustainable Brand Communication for bdapps.
Abdul Awal Mintoo, Minister of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, attended the event as the chief guest. The awards were handed over to Robi officials by Nuzhat Anwar, Managing Director of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC; H E Michael Miller, Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh; H E Nicolas Weeks, Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh; and Shahamin S Zaman, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh.
Robi’s Chief People Officer Muhammad Shoaib Baig, Director of Supply Chain Management Mohammad Hafizur Rahman and Director of Customer Value Solutions Manik Lal Das received the awards on behalf of the company.
The event was also attended by H E Christian Brix Møller, Ambassador of Denmark to Bangladesh; Farooq Sobhan, Network Representative of the UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh; and Shadman Sakib Anik, Executive Director of ESG Institute Bangladesh.
The ESG Excellence Awards are recognised as a dedicated platform in Bangladesh for acknowledging corporate achievements in integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into business operations.
Robi Axiata PLC is a public limited company where Malaysia-based Axiata Group Berhad holds the majority shareholding of 61.82 per cent, while Bharti Airtel of India holds 28.18 per cent and public shareholders hold 10 per cent. Robi is the second-largest mobile network operator in Bangladesh and provides digital products, services and telecom infrastructure supporting the country’s digital ecosystem.
