Mobile operator Robi Axiata PLC held its 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday in Dhaka, reporting its highest-ever profit and approving a 17.5 per cent cash dividend for 2025.
According to the company, profit after tax rose to Tk937.1 crore, while earnings per share increased 33.6 per cent to Tk1.79 despite inflation and broader macroeconomic pressure during the year.
The AGM was held at Kurmitola Golf Club and chaired by Robi Axiata PLC Chairman Thayaparan Sangarapillai. Independent Directors Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Nasreen Sattar and Managing Director and CEO Ziad Shatara were present.
The chairman said the performance was driven by a dual-brand strategy, disciplined capital allocation, and growth in data revenue.
He highlighted operational resilience, an expanding 4G user base, and near-zero debt as key factors behind the company’s financial strength.
The company said operational efficiency and digital expansion supported growth, with 70 per cent of active subscribers now on 4G, the highest share in the industry.
Robi also launched 5G services, expanded its fibre network by 3,500 kilometres, and introduced a four-tier cloud platform.
The company said sustainability initiatives include plans to develop a 100 megawatt solar power plant.
Robi Axiata is the second-largest mobile network operator in Bangladesh. Malaysia-based Axiata Group Berhad holds a 61.82 per cent stake, India-based Bharti Airtel holds 28.18 per cent, and public shareholders hold 10 per cent of the company shares.
