Umar Faruq, a garment worker in Gazipur, has won a gold necklace under ‘Har Na Mana Har’, a remittance campaign launched by Nagad, the digital financial service of the Bangladesh Postal Department.
He is the fourth winner of the ongoing campaign, reads a press release.
Umar won the prize after receiving remittance sent by his younger brother, Tarif Mia, who works in Malaysia.
On behalf of Nagad, actress Runa Khan made a surprise visit to Umar ‘s workplace at a garment factory in Tongi, Gazipur, and handed over the gold necklace.
Three other winners have already received gold necklaces under the campaign.
Nagad launched the ‘Har Na Mana Har’ campaign on 15 May, 2026 to encourage expatriates to send remittances through legal channels. The campaign will continue until 31 August, 2026.
Under the campaign, customers who receive remittances of at least Tk10,000 through Nagad via legal channels are automatically eligible for a chance to win a gold necklace.
Umar expressed his excitement and said, “My brother regularly sends money from Malaysia through legal channels, and I receive it very easily and quickly via Nagad. But winning a gold necklace alongside the remittance was beyond my imagination. This initiative by Nagad has brought immense joy to our family.”
Highlighting the campaign’s objective, H U M Mehedi Sajjad, head of Marketing at Nagad, said, “Expatriate brothers and sisters are the key drivers of our economy.
Their hard-earned money sent through legal channels strengthens the country’s economic foundation. The purpose of the ‘Har Na Mana Har’ campaign is to honour their invaluable contribution and ensure the convenience of receiving instant remittance safely from home.”
During this period, Nagad remittance recipients will continue to have the opportunity to win more gold necklaces.
