A garment worker named Anis Mia (25) has died after being hit by a train in the Banani Chairman Bari area of the capital.
The accident occurred around 2:30pm on Sunday. After receiving the news, relatives rescued him and brought him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead around 4:30pm.
The deceased Anis Mia’s brother, Md Ashik Mia, stated that their home is in Bortirsha village of Sherpur Sadar upazila. Their father’s name is Mojibur Rahman. Anis lived with his wife in the Banani Korail slum and worked at a garment factory in the Chairman Bari area.
He further mentioned that in the afternoon, someone called from Anis’s phone and informed them that Anis had been injured after being hit by a train in the Chairman Bari area. When they went there, they found him in critical condition.
Md Faruk, in-charge (inspector) of the Dhaka Medical Police Camp, confirmed the death and stated that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy.
