Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in the upcoming Big Bash League, despite the tournament clashing with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Rishad had requested permission to skip the BPL in order to take part in the Big Bash, which he believes will aid his career development. The BCB has now approved his request for the entire season.
The 21-year-old was picked by Hobart Hurricanes in the draft for the previous edition of the Big Bash but was unable to feature due to national duty on the tour of the West Indies and commitments in the BPL. This time, the franchise has retained faith in him, influenced by the advice of head of strategy Ricky Ponting.
There had been uncertainty over whether Rishad would be available for the full competition, since the BPL is also scheduled to take place during the same period. With the NOC in hand, that doubt has now been eased.
The Big Bash begins on 15 December and runs until 21 January, with Hobart Hurricanes entering the season as defending champions.
