National Polymer Industries Managing Director (MD) Riad Mahmud has been elected president of the Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC) for the 2026–27 term, according to a press statement.
Saiham Cotton Mills MD Engr Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed has been elected vice president, the statement said.
BAPLC is the representative body of companies listed with the stock exchanges of Bangladesh.
The newly elected executive committee includes Desh Garments Chairman Rokeya Quader, Aamra Networks MD and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Syed Farhad Ahmed, National Credit and Commerce Bank (NCC Bank) Chairman Alhaj Md Nurun Newaz, Shahjalal Islami Bank (SJIBL) Vice Chairman Mohammed Younus and Asia Insurance MD and CEO Md Imam Shaheen.
The committee also features Green Delta Insurance MD and CEO Farzanah Chowdhury, Apex Spinning and Knitting Mills Chairman Shahriar Ahmed, Energypac Power Generation MD and CEO Humayun Rashid, National Housing Finance MD and CEO Mohammad Shamsul Islam and Delta Life Insurance Director Zeyad Rahman.
Robi Axiata Director Sharif Shah Jamal Raz, Peoples Insurance Chairman Jafar Ahmed Patwari, Chartered Life Insurance Director Md Sharif Hasan, Summit Power MD Monirul Islam Akhand and Rangpur Foundry Director Chowdhury Kamruzzaman were also elected.
The remaining members are Provati Insurance MD Md Zahedul Islam, Eastern Insurance CEO Hasan Tarek, GQ Ball Pen Industries MD Uzzal Kumar Saha and e-Generation MD Md Abdullah Al Emran.
The new committee will take office on 1 January 2026 following its formal introduction at the BAPLC annual general meeting on 24 December 2025, the statement said.
