BRAC Bank conducted a fire safety and emergency evacuation drill at its head office in collaboration with the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department, the bank said in a press release on Saturday.

The drill held on Wednesday, was designed to test preparedness for fire-related emergencies and reinforce the bank’s safety protocols.

In a mid-workday break, staff evacuated their workstations as the alarm sounded and moved in an orderly manner to the designated assembly points. Fire department officials then led hands-on training and a fire simulation.

The day concluded with a debriefing session reviewing the firefighting techniques and evacuation procedures practised during the drill.

Md Shaheen Iqbal, Additional Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking, said, “Drills like these play a crucial role in saving lives, and we conduct such exercises regularly across all our premises nationwide to ensure that our colleagues are always prepared. As a compliant and values-driven organisation, we adhere to all safety regulations related to fire safety and other emergencies.”

The bank said it is committed to the health, safety, and overall well-being of its people, and that regular drills and training ensure employees are ready to manage emergencies safely and effectively.
