Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) hosted a three-day international Model United Nations conference, bringing together nearly 550 students and representatives from universities across Bangladesh to develop diplomatic, leadership and negotiation skills.
The BUP International Model United Nations Conference 2026 (BUPIMUN 2026), held from 15 to 17 October, concluded at the university’s Shadhinota Auditorium in Dhaka on Saturday, the university said in a press release.
The conference was organised under the supervision of BUP’s Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS) and the BUP Global Affairs Council.
Approximately 547 students and representatives from BUP and other universities participated, alongside 40 executive board members who served as judges.
Modelled on the proceedings of the United Nations, the conference provided participants with opportunities to engage in simulated diplomatic activities, develop negotiation and leadership skills and deepen their understanding of global affairs.
The initiative aimed to strengthen relations among universities and promote student engagement through practical experience in international diplomacy.
Senior BUP officials, faculty members, participants and invited guests attended the programme.
