Bangladesh received $1.9 billion in remittances during the first 18 days of November, averaging $105.8 million per day, according to Bangladesh Bank data.
Arif Hossain Khan, executive director and spokesperson of the central bank, shared the figures on Wednesday.
He said the country logged $1.9 billion in remittances in the first 18 days of November, compared with $1.4 billion during the same period last year.
He also noted that on 18 November alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $109 million. From July to November 18 of the current fiscal year, the total remittance inflow stood at $12 billion, marking a 15.9 per cent year-on-year increase.
Inflows in the previous months were $2.5 billion in October and $2.6 billion in September. In August and July, Bangladesh received $2.42 billion and $2.47 billion respectively.
Meanwhile, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $30.3 billion in remittances in the 2024–25 fiscal year – the highest annual inflow in the country’s history.
