Standard Chartered Bangladesh (SCB) PLC has recently convened the inaugural ‘Financial Markets Leadership Forum’ for Financial Institution clients in Bangladesh, bringing together regulators and nearly 200 industry leaders from banks, financial institutions and capital markets.
Discussions focused on how stronger risk management practices, deeper and more liquid markets, and the strategic use of technology and sustainable finance can help Bangladesh navigate global uncertainty and capture new opportunities, said a press release on Sunday.
Participants highlighted the critical role of robust market infrastructure, regulatory clarity and collaboration in strengthening Bangladesh’s position within the global financial system. The Forum shared perspectives on the evolving financial markets landscape, regulatory leadership, market stability and opportunities for sustainable growth and innovation in Bangladesh.
Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Masud Khan attended the event as chief guest and Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Md Sarwar Hossain was the special guest.
“Bangladesh’s financial markets stand at a pivotal moment,” said SCB CEO Enamul Huque.
“By deepening market liquidity, strengthening risk management, and embracing digital and sustainable finance, we can unlock the next phase of growth for our economy. Enamul Haque delivered the opening remarks and SCB Head of Markets and Corporate Sales Sabah Saleheen Azim moderated the event and panel discussion.
