One worker died and 15 others sustained injuries after a passenger-laden trolley crashed into a tree in Rangpur on Wednesday morning.
The accident took place at around 11:00am in the Shalbagan area of Madarganj in Badarganj upazila.
Badarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hasan Jahid said the trolley was carrying around 20 workers who were travelling for work as usual. The vehicle lost control and hit a roadside tree.
Hamid Faruk Hossain, 35, died on the spot. He was the son of Hamid Ali from the Bindirdhar area of Madarganj.
Fifteen other workers were injured in the crash. Rescue teams took them to Badarganj Upazila Health Complex for treatment, the OC added.
