The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has stepped up comprehensive security measures across the country to ensure a peaceful and secure observance of Genocide Day on 25 March and Independence and National Day on 26 March.
According to an official statement, RAB has deployed adequate personnel nationwide, including in Dhaka, to prevent any untoward incidents during the two significant national occasions.
Intelligence operations, including plainclothes monitoring, have been intensified as a precautionary measure.
Special security arrangements have been put in place at key venues, including the National Memorial at Savar, National Parade Square, and other major locations hosting state programmes and public gatherings.
High-profile attendees, including the President, Prime Minister, cabinet members, diplomats, and senior civil and military officials, are expected to take part in national-level events.
RAB said security has been tightened at all event sites, including parades, discussions, cultural programmes, film screenings, and fairs across Dhaka, other metropolitan areas, divisional headquarters, and districts.
To prevent disruptions, RAB personnel are actively monitoring activities of banned organisations and potential extremist elements.
The RAB Cyber Monitoring Team is also operating round the clock to curb the spread of rumours, misinformation, and provocative content on digital platforms.
Security has been further reinforced at locations expecting large crowds, including VVIPs, VIPs, and foreign diplomats. Temporary check posts have been established at key city entry and exit points, as well as other critical areas.
In addition, RAB’s Bomb Disposal Unit and Dog Squad will conduct sweeping operations in high-security zones, including the Savar National Memorial and National Parade Square, to eliminate potential threats.
All RAB battalions are working in close coordination with local administration, public representatives, and other law enforcement and intelligence agencies. A central control room at RAB headquarters is overseeing nationwide operations, while local control rooms remain active in respective jurisdictions.
RAB has urged the public to cooperate in maintaining law and order during the national observances and to report any suspicious activity immediately to the nearest RAB patrol or battalion commander.
Authorities expressed confidence that, with coordinated efforts and public support, the national days will be observed peacefully, safely, and with dignity across the country.
