The government has formed a committee to investigate allegations related to the 2025 election of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The National Sports Council issued the order on 11 March 2026 under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The committee will look into claims of vote rigging, corruption and abuse of power in the election. It has been asked to submit its report within 15 days.

Retired judge A.F.M. Abdur Rahman of the Bangladesh Supreme Court will lead the committee as chairman. The committee will review the complaints and collect documents, information and evidence. It can also question people and organisations linked to the matter if needed.

Officials said the panel will check if the election process followed the constitution of the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the relevant laws and rules. It will also verify the complaints and identify any irregularities.

If needed, the committee can take help from experts. After completing the review, it will prepare a report and submit its recommendations to the authorities.

The National Sports Council said the investigation aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the BCB election process. Further steps will be taken based on the committee’s findings.
