The makers of Shakib Khan-starrer ‘Rockstar’ have released the film’s first song, ‘Piriti’, ahead of the movie’s theatrical release during Eid-ul-Azha.
The song was unveiled on Tuesday evening and has already generated strong reactions online, with viewers praising its lyrics, composition, vocals and Shakib Khan’s performance. According to the makers, the track received nearly 900,000 views within 17 hours of release.
Filmed entirely inside a prison, the music video shows Shakib Khan in a devastated and emotionally broken state. The visuals have sparked curiosity among audiences about why the character ends up behind bars, though the film’s storyline remains undisclosed.
The song was released with the caption: “Love stories wrapped in the deep feelings of love and separation.”
‘Piriti’ was written by Hasan Robayet, composed by Ahmed Hasan Sunny and musically directed by Zahid Nirab. Singer Pantho Kanai not only performed the track but also appeared on screen in the video.
Directed by Azman Rusho and produced by Sun Motion Pictures Limited, ‘Rockstar’ stars Shakib Khan in the role of a professional musician rather than his more familiar action-oriented characters.
According to those involved with the project, the film will portray the struggles, rise and fall, and real-life experiences of a musician.
The actor underwent a significant physical transformation for the role, including weight loss and a new look, which first drew attention after the release of the film’s teaser on May 5. The teaser later trended on several platforms at home and abroad.
Most of the film’s songs have been written and composed by Ahmed Hasan Sunny, while additional tracks feature lyrics by Rajib Hasan, Hasan Robayet and Ankan. Zahid Nirab serves as the film’s music director.
The screenplay has been written by Nusrat Mati, with dialogues by Ayman Asib and Samiul Bhuiyan. The story is based on a concept by Azman Rusho.
Sabila Nur stars opposite Shakib Khan in the film, while Miss Universe contestant Tanzia Zaman Mithila appears in a key role.
