Prime Bank PLC has promoted Syed M Omar Tayub to Additional Managing Director (MD), recognising his 26 years of experience in investment banking, SME and consumer banking, branch banking and credit risk management.
Tayub currently serves as MD and CEO of Prime Bank Investment PLC on deputation and will continue in that role, said a press release on Saturday.
He rejoined Prime Bank in 2020 after holding senior leadership positions at Community Bank Bangladesh, Prime Bank, The City Bank, BRAC Bank and Eastern Bank, including Chief Business Officer, Head of MSME, Head of Credit and Collections, and Head of Retail and Small Business Risk. He began his banking career with Standard Chartered Bank in 2000.
Tayub holds an Executive MBA from the Institute of Business Administration at Dhaka University and a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Chittagong.
He is a Credit Skill Assessment certified professional from Omega Performance, USA, and holds an International Mergers and Acquisitions Certification from the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances, said the press release.
