Bangladesh maintained pressure on West Indies on the third morning of the Mirpur Test, reaching the latest drinks break with the visitors at 189/5 after 67 overs, still 83 runs behind.

West Indies resumed on 134/4 and lost Tagenarine Chanderpaul for 56 in the opening hour. Shoriful Islam produced the breakthrough in the 59th over, with Najmul Hossain Shanto taking the catch at second slip.

Chanderpaul edged a delivery that nipped back after he committed to a drive. His dismissal ended a 65-run fifth-wicket partnership with Justin Greaves, who has since moved to 37.

Roston Chase is unbeaten on 15, with the pair adding 27 runs for the sixth wicket. Bangladesh will look to break their partnership and expose the West Indies lower order.

Bangladesh made 272 in their first innings, with Shadman Islam scoring a century. The visitors began their reply strongly but slipped to 97/4 before Chanderpaul and Greaves helped steady the innings on the second evening.
