In the culturally vibrant city of Hanoi, a modest yet deeply connected Bangladeshi diaspora observes the Holy Eid-Al-Fitr with great happiness and heartfelt joy.
Although the community is relatively small in number, the spirit of unity, faith, and brotherhood that characterizes Eid resonates strongly among them.
The day begins with the congregational Eid prayer at Al‑Noor Masjid, the only mosque in the city and a spiritual sanctuary for Muslims residing in Hanoi.
In the serene early hours of the morning, Bangladeshi Muslims gather there alongside Muslim brothers from other nations, offering prayers of gratitude to Almighty Allah and embracing the universal message of peace, compassion, and fraternity that Eid embodies.
Every year, Bangladesh Ambassador to Vietnam hosts an Eid reception ,and members of the Bangladeshi community assemble at the residence of the Ambassador.
This gathering becomes a warm and joyous reunion where diplomats, expatriates, students, and families exchange Eid greetings, share traditional delicacies, and strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity that unite them far from their homeland.
On many occasions, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Vietnam also joins hands with fellow Muslim Missions in Hanoi to host larger celebrations.
For instance, last year the Embassy of Bangladesh partnered with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Hanoi to commemorate Eid in a spirit of international Muslim fellowship.
Beyond official gatherings, members of the diaspora also meet informally in different parts of the city, celebrating together and keeping alive the cherished traditions of Bangladesh while nurturing a shared sense of faith, community, and belonging.
