Jamaat-e-Islami has called for the arrest and interrogation of former interim government adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and current Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman over accusations of electoral manipulation.

The demand was made during a protest rally in Dhaka on Friday. The march began around 2:30pm from the northern gate of Baitul Mukarram, with Jamaat’s Dhaka North and South city units leading the procession.

During the rally, Jamaat’s Secretary General, Mia Golam Parwar, addressed the crowd, thanking the interim government for holding the elections and acknowledging the enthusiasm shown by voters after a long period of political uncertainty.

However, Parwar alleged that certain advisers had worked in favour of the BNP, manipulating the results to depict Jamaat and its allies as having lost by narrow margins in several constituencies.

Despite these claims, Parwar stated that Jamaat accepted the election results in the interest of the nation.
However, he expressed concerns over statements from some advisers that raised suspicions of “election engineering,” which, according to him, sent a misleading message to the public.

Jamaat-e-Islami has called for a judicial investigation into the allegations of electoral fraud and demanded the arrest and questioning of Rizwana Hasan and Khalilur Rahman.

The party emphasized the need for transparency and justice in addressing concerns over election manipulation.
