Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday joined a state banquet hosted by Chinese Premier Li Qiang, alongside the prime ministers of several other nations.
The banquet, held in Dalian, honoured heads of state and government attending the World Economic Forum’s conference. Rahman was accompanied by his wife, Zubaida Rahman, reports BSS.
Among those present were South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, Mongolian Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral, Guinean Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, and Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Mahdi Amin said Tarique met with his counterparts at the banquet, where they dined together. He noted the occasion created scope for informal and open discussions.
He arrived in Dalian on Monday night after a two-day official visit to Malaysia and was accorded a red-carpet welcome at the city’s international airport.
The PM is scheduled to attend the World Economic Forum on Wednesday morning before travelling to Beijing by bullet train in the afternoon.
