The galleries of the National Parliament have been renamed after the seven Bir Shresthas, the greatest heroes of the Liberation War, following the advice of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Through this decision, the saga of the bravery of the 1971 Liberation War has been permanently enshrined in the National Parliament, the heart of the country’s democracy.
The previous names of the galleries, which were based on flowers and rivers, have been changed to directly associate them with the history of the Liberation War and seven Bir Shresthas, according to a parliamentary announcement.
According to the new naming:

Additionally, VIP Gallery-1 has been named after Bir Shrestha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir, and VIP Gallery-2 after Bir Shrestha Sepoy Hamidur Rahman. Galleries 1 and 2 are reserved for journalists.
Through this naming, the memory of the Liberation War has been institutionally preserved, and the history of bravery and sacrifice has been made more visible within the parliamentary premises.
Furthermore, before the start of the 18th parliamentary session, following the Prime Minister’s advice, ‘Complete trust and faith in Almighty Allah’ was restored in the parliamentary chamber, officials said.
