Kanye West is set to make his long-awaited debut in India this May, with organisers confirming a one-night performance in New Delhi despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding several of his international tour dates.
The rapper, who now performs under the name Ye, will take to the stage at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on May 23. The show was officially announced this week, following an earlier postponement of the original March date, which organisers attributed to regional tensions and wider geopolitical concerns.
West also shared the details on Instagram, posting a tour flyer that confirmed the venue, date and what has been billed as his only scheduled performance in India. Tickets and further information have been made available through the event’s official platform.
Organisers have described the concert as a large-scale production featuring immersive visuals, advanced sound design and a setlist spanning different phases of his career, from early hits to more recent material.
The event has been positioned as a landmark moment for live music in the country, with promoters calling it one of the most ambitious international shows staged in India to date.
However, the announcement comes at a time when several of West’s planned appearances abroad have faced disruption. In recent weeks, some of his scheduled festival slots in Europe were cancelled or withdrawn amid public backlash linked to his past controversial statements. A major UK appearance was also called off after organisers cited travel restrictions.
West’s career has frequently been overshadowed by controversy alongside his musical influence. Over the years, he has faced widespread criticism for antisemitic remarks and provocative public behaviour, though he has also at times issued apologies or attempted to distance himself from earlier statements.
