Police of Pallabi Thana under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have recovered 55 rounds of bullets from Pallabi area in the capital.
According to Pallabi Thana sources, a police team conducted an operation on early Thursday in Section-12 area under Pallabi Thana in Mirpur based on information provided by arrested remand accused Md Shafiqul Islam Roni alias Brinda Roni.
During the drive, police recovered one Brazil-made revolver along with five rounds of bullets and 50 rounds of Chinese rifle bullets.
The sources said that on 21 March at around 9:40pm, the arrested Brinda Roni along with Pichchi Babu and Boro Lokman fired two rounds of bullets in front of Rose Garden building on the Alinagar road under Pallabi Thana.
Based on CCTV footage identification, a case was filed at Pallabi Thana against the three accused. Md Shafiqul Islam Roni alias Brinda Roni was later arrested in the case.
Police said Brinda Roni is known in the Pallabi area as a shooter. Based on his information, the raid was conducted at around 2:30am on Thursday in Section-12 area of Pallabi Thana, where the weapons and ammunition were recovered.
Police added that he is also facing one arms case, one robbery preparation case and one narcotics case at Pallabi Thana. A robbery case against him is also under investigation.
The arrested accused has been sent to court after completion of remand, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the other accused and take further legal action.
