The orientation programme for the 7th and 8th batches of the Executive MBA Programme under the Department of Banking and Insurance at the University of Dhaka was held at the Professor Dr Abdullah Faruk Multipurpose Conference Hall on Sunday.
The Treasurer of the University of Dhaka, Professor Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, attended the programme as the chief guest, according to a press release.
The event was chaired by Professor Dr Rad Mujib Lalon, Director of the Executive MBA Programme.
Managing Director of Citizens Bank PLC, Alamgir Hossain, was present as the guest of honour, while the Chairman of the Department of Banking and Insurance, Professor Dr Md Shahidul Islam Zahid, addressed the programme as the special guest. The session was moderated by Farzana Rahman, a student of the department.
In his address, Treasurer Professor Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury welcomed the newly admitted students to the Department of Banking and Insurance.
He noted that the banking sector has been the most affected over the past 15 years and stressed the need to incorporate ethical education into the department’s curriculum to address the ongoing crisis in the sector.
