Shafiqur Rahman, Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and leader of the opposition in Parliament, offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the National Eidgah ground in the capital on Saturday.
He joined the congregation at 8am at the Eidgaon adjacent to Monipur Girls’ High School on Mirpur’s 60 Feet Road.
After the prayers, he exchanged Eid greetings and pleasantries with people from various walks of life.
He is scheduled to meet diplomats from Dhaka-based foreign missions at his official residence on 29 Minto Road from 11am to 12:30pm.
He will also exchange Eid greetings with political leaders and citizens from different professions and social groups from 3pm to 4:30pm.
