One more person has died with measles symptoms in the country in the past 24 hours, from 8am Sunday to 8am Monday.
With this, the number of deaths from measles and measles‑related symptoms since 15 March has risen to 759, according to a press release by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The release said that in the last 24 hours, 896 new suspected measles patients were identified, and 113 were confirmed through laboratory tests.
Since 15 March, the total number of suspected measles patients nationwide has reached 112,376, while the total number of confirmed measles patients stands at 13,613.
During this period, 95,196 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, while 91,483 have recovered and returned home.
Division‑wise analysis of the past 24 hours shows Dhaka division recorded the highest numbers, with 349 suspected and 60 confirmed measles patients.
Sylhet division reported 66 suspected patients and one death. Among other divisions, Chattogram recorded 222 suspected patients, Barishal 126, Khulna 47, Mymensingh 38, Rajshahi 36, and Rangpur 12.
