The government has about one month’s worth of fuel reserves, said Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani.
The cabinet secretary shared the information in response to questions from journalists on Wednesday after a cabinet meeting and a separate meeting on fuel at the Secretariat.
The cabinet secretary stated that the prime minister is giving the highest priority to addressing the fuel crisis.
“The oil reserves are sufficient so far. This crisis will be resolved very soon,” said the cabinet secretary.
The meeting, chaired by the prime minister, was attended by the relevant ministers regarding the fuel issue.
The cabinet secretary said the prime minister has reviewed the status of fuel in addressing the fuel crisis.
He said the panic that is prevailing among the public will soon subside.
The cabinet secretary said the cabinet meeting gave final approval to convert five economic-related ordinances out of the 133 ordinances issued during the caretaker government period into laws.
These laws will be presented in parliament.
