Omera Petroleum Limited, a subsidiary of MJL Bangladesh PLC, has entered into an agreement to acquire 99.995% of the shares of Premier LP Gas Limited (PLPG), a leading LPG operator in Bangladesh under the “Totalgaz Bangladesh” brand, MJL disclosed in a Dhaka Stock Exchange filing on Monday.

Valued at Tk 227 crore, the acquisition is subject to necessary regulatory approvals. Once completed, Omera’s market share in the LPG sector is expected to increase to 27 percent from approximately 22 percent, further consolidating its leadership in the industry. This deal is set to enhance Omera’s LPG operations by integrating PLPG’s infrastructure, including its 1.6 million LPG cylinders, which is anticipated to significantly boost both revenue and profitability.

The acquisition aligns with Omera Petroleum’s long-term growth strategy and will enable the company to tap into new market opportunities, capitalising on the growing demand for LPG in Bangladesh. By strengthening its infrastructure and product offerings, Omera is well-positioned to meet the rising demand in both residential and industrial LPG sectors.

This strategic move not only bolsters Omera’s position as a market leader but also signifies its commitment to providing sustainable and reliable LPG solutions across the country, supporting Bangladesh’s broader energy transition goals.
