Omar Bin Hadi, elder brother of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, has been appointed as Second Secretary at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The appointment, announced on 15 January, 2026, is on a contractual basis for a three-year term.
No further details regarding his responsibilities or official duties were provided in the notification.
Osman Hadi was a prospective independent candidate from Dhaka-8. On 12 December, miscreants on a motorcycle in the Box Culvert Road area of Paltan shot Hadi and fled.
He was later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and then to Evercare Hospital for treatment. As his condition deteriorated, Osman Hadi was taken to Singapore via air ambulance on 15 December for advanced treatment. He died on 18 December while under treatment after one week.
Regarding this incident, Inqilab Moncho’s Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jabir filed an attempted murder case at Paltan Police Station on 14 December. Subsequently, it was converted into a murder case.
