Md Nuruzzaman has taken charge as executive engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in Chandpur, assuming responsibility for rural road, bridge and other infrastructure projects across the district.
Nuruzzaman formally took over from outgoing Executive Engineer Md Monowar Uddin on 16 July and pledged to complete ongoing projects on schedule while maintaining transparency, accountability and the highest quality standards, according to a press release.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology in 2004.
After gaining experience in several development projects, Nuruzzaman joined the Local Government Engineering Department in 2011.
During his career, he served in different upazilas of Khulna and worked in the administrative wing of the LGED headquarters.
He later served as upazila engineer in Chauddagram Upazila of Cumilla and as senior assistant engineer in Bhola.
Following his promotion, Nuruzzaman worked as executive engineer at the LGED regional office in Cumilla, contributing to the implementation of various development projects.
After assuming office, Nuruzzaman said he would work sincerely to ensure that ongoing rural road, bridge and other infrastructure projects in Chandpur were completed within the stipulated timeframe and to the highest standards.
He said transparency, accountability and quality would be given the highest priority in development activities.
Nuruzzaman also pledged to accelerate LGED’s work to build sustainable infrastructure, modernise rural transport networks and ensure safe and convenient travel for residents.
He sought coordinated support from officials, employees, elected representatives, contractors and local people to achieve those goals.
Nuruzzaman said he wanted to take Chandpur’s infrastructure development to a new level through the participation of all stakeholders.
