A Cox’s Bazar-bound Novoair flight made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday after a technical malfunction shortly after takeoff.
The VQ-935 flight returned to Dhaka about 15 minutes after departure when a landing gear failure was detected, officials said.
In accordance with safety protocols, the aircraft circled the sky for approximately 40 to 45 minutes before making a safe landing back in Dhaka.
Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs and Civil Aviation Adviser Humayun Kabir was among the passengers on board, according to sources.
The flight had departed from Dhaka at around 6:50pm.
