No conspiracy against July will be tolerated: Hasnat

National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah has said that any conspiracies to negate the spirit of the July Uprising will be allowed to sustain as Bangladesh’s future depends on it.

The NCP leader made the remark during a massive election procession and public meeting of the 11-party alliance held at the local Central Shaheed Minar premises in Parbatipur, Dinajpur, on Monday afternoon.

Speaking as the chief guest, Hasnat Abdullah said, “No conspiracy to nullify the spirit of the July Uprising will be allowed to succeed. This fight of ours is precisely to ensure the true liberation and voting rights of the people. The future of Bangladesh will be determined through the victory of ‘Yes’ in the referendum.”

In the public meeting, the speakers called for voting “Yes” in the upcoming 12 February referendum and voting for the alliance’s nominated symbol “Water Lily Bud” to give final shape to the struggle for establishing people’s rights.

The meeting was presided over by the 11-party alliance candidate for Dinajpur-5 constituency, Abdul Ahad.

Speaking as special guest at the event, NCP spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, said, “A people’s mandate is needed to complete the path of reform that the interim government has created. The Water Lily Bud symbol is today the light of hope for the exploited people.” Additionally, speeches were given by NCP’s joint convener, Manira Sarmin, and the convener of the central Juba Shakti, Md. Tariqul Islam.

At the meeting, top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and the Workers’ Welfare Federation were present and expressed full support for the alliance. Present were former Upazila Vice Chairman and district Jamaat leader Alhaj Md Anwar Hossain, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Parbatipur Upazila Amir Yusuf Ali, Upazila Secretary Abu Sayem Shah, along with leaders from various levels of Jamaat, Chhatra Shibir, and the Workers’ Welfar
