The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has announced the election of its new leadership, appointing N.K.A. Mobin FCA as President and four Vice Presidents for the 2025–26 term. The new office bearers officially assumed their roles on 24 June 2025 and will serve for one year.
A seasoned finance professional, Mobin is currently the Executive President of Emerging Credit Rating Limited (ECRL), a licensed credit rating agency. He has been a member of the ICAB Council since 2019 and previously served as Vice President in 2019 and 2022. With more than two decades of experience in multinational companies including Grameenphone, KAFCO, and Ciba-Geigy, he brings a deep understanding of financial leadership to the presidency. Mobin has also held key roles in public service, including as a government-nominated board director at Biman Bangladesh Airlines and an independent director at various publicly listed companies.
Joining him in the ICAB leadership are four newly elected Vice Presidents: Suraiya Zannath FCA, Md. Rokonuzzaman FCA, Muhammad Mehedi Hasan FCA, and Md. Moniruzzaman FCA.
Suraiya Zannath, a trailblazer as Bangladesh’s first female Chartered Accountant, currently serves as Lead Governance Specialist at the World Bank. With over three decades of experience in public financial management, donor coordination, and governance reform across Asia, she has played a pivotal role in strengthening fiscal transparency and corporate governance frameworks in Bangladesh. She is also active in social causes and has received several national and international recognitions for her contributions to the profession.
Md. Rokonuzzaman, a Partner at ACNABIN Chartered Accountants, brings over 25 years of experience to the Council. A former finance executive at GSK and MGH Group, he has contributed significantly to ICAB’s education and ethics initiatives, regularly conducting training on international accounting standards and ethics.
Muhammad Mehedi Hasan, a Partner at Rahman Rahman Huq/KPMG, holds memberships in ICAB, ICAEW, ACCA, and ICMAB. With international audit experience in the UK and Bangladesh, he specialises in advisory, regulatory compliance, and tax services for global clients including Chevron and GSK.
Md. Moniruzzaman, Managing Partner at Alam M. Zaman & Co., has extensive experience in tax, VAT, and financial consulting. A former Group CFO, he has served in key ICAB positions in Chattogram and remains active in professional and social spheres.
The new leadership aims to steer ICAB through a critical period as Bangladesh prepares for its graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status. Their appointment reflects ICAB’s ongoing commitment to professional excellence, institutional transparency, and strategic engagement with national economic development.
