The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a formal directive outlining the mandatory information required for the pre-registration of Hajj pilgrims.
The letter was issued by the ministry’s Hajj-1 branch on Wednesday.
The pre-registration serves as the essential first step for all Bangladeshi citizens intending to perform the pilgrimage. During this process, applicants must provide either a National Identity (NID) card, a Bangladeshi passport, or a birth certificate.
Additional requirements include a passport-sized photograph, a mobile phone number, and bank account details. The ministry clarified that multiple members of the same family are permitted to use a single bank account for their applications.
The directive emphasises that maintaining a bank account is compulsory for pilgrims under both government and private management to ensure that Hajj-related financial transactions remain secure and disciplined. Individuals who previously completed their pre-registration without providing bank details are now required to submit this information during the registration phase.
In accordance with the roadmap declared by the Saudi government, the ministry stated that the entire Hajj registration process must be completed by 26 September of this year.
