The National Housing Authority (NHA) has initiated legal action and issued show-cause notices to several staff members following the discovery of a document forgery involving a rehabilitation file.

The matter came to the NHA’s attention on Tuesday, revealing that rehabilitation file No 9/1 in the Rupnagar 19/2 area had been compromised.

According to officials, the file was used to execute a power of attorney deed through fraudulent means.

Furthermore, a criminal case has been lodged at Shahbagh Police Station naming four outsiders as the accused. The case was filed by Md Zahidul Huda, who serves as an accounts aqssistant (Record Keeper) at the National Housing Authority.

Authorities have stated that the names of the accused are being withheld at this stage as the matter remains under active investigation.
