A newborn’s body was found floating in Aynal Kabir Khan’s pond in Jashai Union of Rajbari on Sunday morning.
Locals informed the police after witnessing the incident.
Pangsha Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Mohammad Abdul Gani said the body was sent to the Rajbari hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
According to the primary investigation, the newborn is suspected to have been dumped in the pond following an abortion.
