The National Citizen Party (NCP) has not yet made a decision regarding joining any alliance or simultaneous movement, it said in a press release on Saturday, adding that the news about an eight-party simultaneous programme with four demands is misleading.
It reads, “The NCP had informal discussions with other political parties regarding its demand for a legal basis of the July Charter and a new constitution through an election for a constituent assembly. However, the NCP does not have a position on the issue of a fully proportional representation election.”
It goes on to say, “Rather, the NCP only agrees on PR for the upper house. Additionally, the NCP will support the demand to suspend the organisational activities of the Jatiya Party for being terrorists and collaborators of fascism.”
