NCP has put forward a three-point demand, including the provision of at least Tk1 crore in compensation to each family of the martyrs of the July movement.
The demands were announced during a prayer session organised by NCP Dhaka Metropolitan North on Thursday to observe July Martyrs’ Day 2026. Ariful Islam Adeeb, the convener of NCP Dhaka Metropolitan North, presented the specific points during the event.
The first demand calls for a minimum of Tk 1 crore to be provided to every martyr’s family to ensure their financial rehabilitation. Secondly, NCP demanded that the government ensure security of the martyrs’ families, injured warriors, and organisers of the movement.
Thirdly, the party urged the government to undertake detailed documentation initiatives based on the testimonies and evidence provided by doctors at hospitals located near movement hotspots, specifically highlighting Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Moderated by Nur Khan, the organisational secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North NCP, the prayer session featured speeches from NCP joint conveners Sarowar Tushar and Ali Ahsan Junaid.
Other speakers included joint member secretaries SM Saif Mostafiz and Mahin Sarker, alongside Khan Talat Mahmud Rafi, the senior joint convener of Jatiya Chhatra Shakti.
The event concluded with a prayer led by Maulana Sanaullah Khan, the member secretary of National Olama Alliance.
